NEW TO TARANTULAS? Please read my basic tarantula care sheet at www.tarantulacages.com/basiccare.html to get an idea on what to expect and how to set up the correct environment for your new pet. Many common questions can be answered by simply reading my care sheet.

Who is TarantulaCages.com? Do you have a store I can visit?

TarantulaCages.com is owned and operated by me, Adam Hundt. I built the site, make the cages, ship the cages, and personally reply to email. I live in Seattle, Washington and do most of this in my spare time.. yes I do work a day job.

Since I sell online, I do not have a store to visit. If you live in the Seattle area and would like to make a local pickup you can contact me to arrange an appointment.

How are the tarantulas shipped to me?

Live tarantulas are shipped via FedEx Express Overnight service. They are carefully placed into a plastic container or vial, packed with a paper towel, which is then placed in a new styrofoam lined animal shipping box.

The key to shipping is having very little movement inside which stops the spider from feeling any impact during the shipping process. 40-hour rated heatpacks are included for cold weather conditions. Tarantulas are very good at enduring the journey from me to you, and will usually emerge as if nothing happened.

Do you make custom sized cages?

Depending on my availability, I can make you a cage to your desired dimensions. I do require the length to be less than 20 inches. Please contact me with the dimensions you'd like. Pricing tends to be higher than my standard sizes, since custom cages are one of a kind.

Can I put other animals in these cages? Like snakes or lizards?

Yes, you can as long as they are appropriately sized to fit. Geckos, small snakes, scorpions, centipedes, and frogs thrive very well in them.

Are the screen vents removable?

No. They are adhered to the plastic.

May I use a heat pad on the acrylic cage?

Yes, as long as the heat pad is rated for 100 degrees fahrenheit or less. I recommend using the Zoo Med mini undertank heater, which is rated for use on plastic. I recommend always attaching the heat pad to the side of the cage and not on the bottom, which avoids overheating the plastic and your tarantula.

Is it secure to order using my credit card from TarantulaCages.com?

Yes! PayPal is a service you can trust and is a great way to make purchases securely across the web. In fact, your credit card information is not even shown to us when you use PayPal.

Are those cages clear on all sides?

Yes, every side of the cage is made of a clear acrylic sheet.

Where do your cages ship from?

Shipments are sent from Seattle, WA via Fed Ex ground.

How soon can I expect to receive my cage after I place an order?

I make every effort to ship your order as soon as possible! Cage orders are shipped within 2 weeks or less after the order has been placed. Delivery typically takes 3-5 business days for domestic orders and 6-10 business days for international orders.

Do you ship cages internationally to other countries outside the U.S.?

Yes! Please contact me with the size and quantity of cages you wish to purchase, and I will email you back with a quote on the total price and instructions on how to place your order. Shipping cost is based on weight and location, so each shipping price is different.
